'Maris' means 'of the Sea'.

Our Hawai‘i studio was founded to use naturally-shaped pearls to raise awareness and funding for marine conservation.

Established on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i in 2018, we are a brand led, run, and inspired by women. We believe that we are all shaped by water, just like the organic shape of our pearls, and hope that our pieces encourage you to celebrate your intrinsic connection to the ocean.

Led by a GIA- and IGS-certified pearl specialist, we hand-select every pearl that we use in our pieces, choosing them for the natural shape and liquid lustre that have quickly become our signature.

In June 2024, we celebrated World Ocean's Day by launching our newest pearl product, the Pearl Powder, a wellness ritual made up of a single, magical ingredient: pure freshwater pearl, finely milled to effortlessly dissolve into hot and cold beverages, as well as directly into skincare.

The ocean shapes everything that we do: it serves as our muse and our north star as we constantly look for new ways to steward our planet's saltwater. From the algae-based ink we use in our packaging, to sponsoring clean-up dives and supporting policy reform, we are dedicated to leaving the ocean better than we found it. Aloha. My name is Stephanie, and I am so glad you're here.

'Maris' is my maiden name; it serves as a nod to my family’s Greek Island heritage, and its meaning, 'of the sea,' is constant reminder of our studio’s foundational mission.

I founded Maris to fulfill a dream: to find a beautiful way to support marine conservation, and to build a brand that would serve as a platform to connect like-minded women all over the world, teaching them to serve as stewards and ambassadors for the planet's oceans.
